Bastian Steuwer joins CPLB as Postdoctoral Associate

Dr. Bastian Steuwer has joined the Center for Population-Level Bioethics as Postdoctoral Associate. Steuwer received his Ph.D. in philosophy from the London School of Economics in philosophy. At the CPLB, he will be working on applying Scanlonian theory to dilemmas of vaccine testing to fight COVID19, and on a project concerning the fair allocation of scarce medical resources. His doctoral dissertation focused on the moral significance of the separateness of persons. Before his doctoral training, Bastian received master’s degrees in philosophy from the London School of Economics and law from University College London. His first papers have come out with Utilitas and Philosophical Quarterly.
