Open letter supports human challenge trials for vaccines against COVID-19

CPLB Director Nir Eyal helped to pen an open letter signed by 15 Nobel Prize winners, leading challenge trialists and phase 3 trialists, and renowned consequentialist and anti-consequentialist ethicists. The letter lays out the ethical case for human challenge trials (where volunteers are exposed to the virus) for expedited testing of Coronavirus vaccines. 

The letter, widely reported in world media, is the result of an initiative by Eyal and 1Day Sooner, a non-profit organization that advocates for challenge trials and recruits and organizes volunteers willing to participate in such trials.
