Bastian Steuwer
Postdoctoral Associate (2020-22)

Dr. Bastian Steuwer is a Post-Doctoral Associate at the Center for Population-Level Bioethics (CPLB). He recently completed his Ph.D. in philosophy from the London School of Economics. Before his doctoral training, Bastian received master’s degrees in philosophy from the London School of Economics and law from University College London.

At CPLB, he will be working on questions concerning the ethics of risk as they arise in dilemmas of vaccine testing to fight COVID-19 and on questions concerning the fair allocation of scarce medical resources. His doctoral dissertation focuses on the moral significance of the separateness of persons. His first papers have come out in Utilitas and Philosophical Quarterly. A further paper is forthcoming in Journal of Ethics and Social Philosophy.
