Jan-Christoph Heilinger is researcher and lecturer in Philosophy at RWTH Aachen University, Germany. He also has an appointment as permanent visiting professor at Ecole Normale Supérieure, Port-au-Prince, Haiti.

Jan studied in Cologne, Paris, and Berlin and received his doctoral degree in philosophy from Humboldt University. He worked at Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities, the University of Zurich and LMU Munich, before coming to Aachen. He has mostly worked in moral and political philosophy and in applied ethics. His current research focuses on relational egalitarianism and global justice. He has visited the CPLB in 2020 and 2023.
